อียิปต์ฉลองวันชาติในกรุงเทพ : บทพิสูจน์ของมิตรภาพที่ยืนยงและการขยายความร่วมมือทวิภาคีกับไทย
เมื่อวันที่ 23 กรกฎาคม 2025 ที่ผ่านมาสถานเอกอัครราชทูตสาธารณรัฐอาหรับอียิปต์ประจำประเทศไทย ได้จัดงานวันชาติ ในโอกาสฉลองครบรอบ 73 ปี อันเป็นเหตุการณ์สำคัญช่วงการปฏิวัติในปี ค.ศ.1952 ซึ่งนับเป็นการวางรากฐานของสาธารณรัฐอียิปต์สมัยใหม่ ทั้งยังเป็นสัญลักษณ์ของความสามัคคี อธิปไตย และการปฏิรูปเศรษฐกิจของชาติ
งานนี้มีแขกผู้ทรงเกียรติระดับสูงของไทยเข้าร่วมมากมาย อาทิ นายวันมูหะมัดนอร์ มะทา ประธานสภาผู้แทนราษฎรและประธานรัฐสภา , พันเอกทวี สอดส่อง รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงยุติธรรม, ดร.นลินี ทวีสิน ที่ปรึกษานายกรัฐมนตรีและผู้แทนการค้าไทย , นายอรุณ บุญชม จุฬาราชมนตรี , นายชัชชาติ สิทธิพันธุ์ ผู้ว่าราชการกรุงเทพมหานคร, นายรัศมิ์ ชาลีจันทร์ ผู้ช่วยรัฐมนตรีประจำกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ และ ดร.ลาลีวรรณ กาญจนจารี ผู้ช่วยรัฐมนตรีประจำกระทรวงต่างประเทศ นอกจากนี้ ยังมีบรรดาทูตานุทูต เจ้าหน้าที่ระดับสูง นักธุรกิจชั้นนำ ผู้แทนองค์กรต่างๆ และสมาชิกชุมชนชาวอียิปต์ในประเทศไทย
ฯพณฯ เอกอัครราชทูตฮาลา ยูเซฟ ได้กล่าวแถลงเปิดงาน อันมีเนื้อหาสะท้อนถึงการเดินทางอันพัฒนาในระดับชาติของอียิปต์ตั้งแต่ปี ค.ศ.1952 เน้นย้ำถึงคุณค่าที่คงความสมัยใหม่ในอัตลักษณ์อียิปต์ นั่นคือ ความคืบหน้า การปฏิรูป และความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศ “เราไม่เพียงแต่เฉลิมฉลองช่วงเวลาแห่งประวัติศาสตร์นี้เท่านั้น แต่ยังร่วมฉลองคุณค่าอันยาวนานของอียิปต์ด้วย นั่นก็คือ ความเป็นเอกภาพของชาติ การพัฒนาเชิงสังคมและความเชื่อมั่นอย่างแน่วแน่ในบทบาทสำคัญของอียิปต์ในระเบียบโลก”
และได้เน้นย้ำถึงความลึกซึ้งของความสัมพันธ์ทวิภาคีระหว่างอียิปต์-ไทย ซึ่งมีมาตั้งแต่ปี ค.ศ.1954 และยังกล่าวถึงความสำเร็จลุล่วงในการหารือทางการเมืองรอบที่ 7 ณ กรุงไคโร เมื่อเดือนเมษายนที่ผ่านมาอีกด้วย
ท่านทูตได้ประกาศจัดตั้งคณะกรรมการการค้าร่วม และกล่าวถึงการลงทุนของไทยในอียิปต์เมื่อเร็วๆ นี้ว่า “ก้าวเหล่านี้สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงความเชื่อมั่นที่เพิ่มขึ้นของภาคธุรกิจไทยต่อแนวโน้มทางเศรษฐกิจและตำแหน่งทางภูมิศาสตร์เชิงยุทธศาสตร์ของอียิปต์”
ในเชิงการศึกษาและการแลกเปลี่ยนในภาคประชาชนกับประชาชน ก็ยังคงเป็นหัวใจสำคัญของความสัมพันธ์ทวิภาคี ปัจจุบันเรามีนักศึกษาไทยกว่า 3,000 คนที่กำลังศึกษาอยู่ในอียิปต์ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งที่มหาวิทยาลัยอัลอัซฮาร์อันเก่าแก่
ในเชิงเศรษฐกิจ ท่านทูตได้กล่าวถึงความคืบหน้าของโครงการปฏิรูปของอียิปต์ ซึ่งได้รับการสนับสนุนจากกองทุนการเงินระหว่างประเทศ (IMF) ตั้งแต่ปี 2016 ซึ่งมีส่วนช่วยสร้างเสถียรภาพทางเศรษฐกิจมหภาค มีการส่งออกเพิ่มขึ้น 20% และมีตัวเลขทุนสำรองระหว่างประเทศที่เพิ่มขึ้นอีกด้วย ตัวเลขล่าสุดของ UNCTAD ระบุว่าอียิปต์เป็นประเทศผู้รับการลงทุนโดยตรงจากต่างประเทศ (FDI) รายใหญ่อันดับ 9 ของโลกในปี 2024 โดยเน้นย้ำถึงความสนใจของนักลงทุนที่เพิ่มขึ้นในภาคส่วนต่างๆ เช่น ไฮโดรเจนสีเขียว การผลิต และโครงสร้างรากฐานทางดิจิตัล
ท่านทูตได้รับทราบถึงสถานการณ์อันน่าเศร้าในฉนวนกาซา และยืนยันถึงความพยายามอย่างต่อเนื่องของอียิปต์ในการไกล่เกลี่ยเพื่อยุติการหยุดยิง ช่วยเหลือด้านมนุษยธรรม และผลักดันความยุติธรรมเพื่อให้เกิดสันติภาพที่ยั่งยืนในภูมิภาค “แม้ในยามที่เกิดความวุ่นวาย อียิปต์ยังคงวางแผนอย่างมั่นคงรอบคอบต่อไป เพื่อการลงทุน และเดินหน้าต่อด้วยความมุ่งมั่น”
ท่านทูตยังได้ใช้โอกาสนี้แสดงความยินดีอย่างสุดซึ้งต่อกระทรวงการต่างประเทศของไทยในโอกาสครบรอบ 150 ปี โดยยกย่องสุนทรพจน์ล่าสุดของ ฯพณฯ มาริษ เสงี่ยมพงษ์ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ว่าท่านได้สะท้อนถึงนโยบายต่างประเทศที่มีพลวัตและทรงพลังของไทยอย่างแท้จริง
ในช่วงท้ายคำปราศรัย ท่านทูตยังแสดงความขอบคุณผู้ที่เกี่ยวข้องทั้งไทยและอียิปต์ทุกท่านที่ได้มีส่วนช่วยส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ทวิมหาภาคีให้ก้าวหน้ายิ่งขึ้น พร้อมกันนี้ได้ถวายพระพรแด่พระบาทสมเด็จพระวชิรเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว เนื่องในวโรกาสวันเฉลิมพระชนมพรรษาที่กำลังจะมาถึง

Egypt Celebrates National Day in Bangkok: A Testament to Enduring Friendship and Expanding Bilateral Cooperation with Thailand
The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Bangkok commemorated the 73rd anniversary of Egypt’s National Day with a grand reception held on 23 July 2025. The event marked the pivotal 1952 Revolution, which laid the foundations of Egypt’s modern republic and continues to symbolize national unity, sovereignty, and economic reform.
The celebration was attended by a distinguished gathering of high-level dignitaries from the Kingdom of Thailand, including H.E. Mr. Wan Muhamad Noor Matha, Speaker of the House of Representatives and President of the National Assembly; H.E. Col. Tawee Sodsong, Minister of Justice; Dr. Nalinee Taveesin, Advisor to the Prime Minister and Thailand Trade Representative; the Sheikhul Islam of Thailand, Mr. Arun Boonchom; H.E. Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Bangkok Governor; and Ambassador Russ Jalichandra, Vice Foreign Minister, as well as Dr. Lalivan Karnchanachari - Vice Foreign Minister among others. Also present were Ambassadors and Head of diplomatic missions in Thailand, senior officials, business leaders, cultural institutions, and members of the Egyptian community in Thailand.
In her keynote address, H.E. Ambassador Hala Youssef reflected on Egypt’s national journey since 1952 and emphasized the enduring values that underpin its modern identity—progress, reform, and international cooperation. “We do not only celebrate this historical moment, but also its enduring values: national unity, social development, and a steadfast belief in Egypt’s vital role in the global order,” she stated.
The Ambassador highlighted the depth of Egypt–Thailand relations, which dates 1954. Among the key developments in bilateral ties over the past year, she noted the successful 7th round of political consultations held in Cairo last April.
She also announced the establishment of a Joint Trade Committee and cited a number of recent Thai investments in Egypt. “These steps reflect the increasing confidence of Thai businesses in Egypt’s economic prospects and strategic geographic position,” Ambassador Youssef said.
Education and people-to-people exchange remain central to the bilateral relationship, with over 3,000 Thai students currently studying in Egypt, particularly at the historic Al-Azhar University.
On the economic front, Ambassador Youssef outlined the progress of Egypt’s reform program, supported by the IMF since 2016, which has contributed to macroeconomic stability, a 20% increase in exports, and growing foreign reserves. She cited recent UNCTAD figures placing Egypt as the 9th-largest global recipient of FDI in 2024, and the leading destination in Africa, highlighting growing investor interest in sectors such as green hydrogen, manufacturing, and digital infrastructure.
In her remarks, the Ambassador acknowledged the tragic situation in Gaza and reaffirmed Egypt’s ongoing efforts to mediate for a ceasefire, facilitate humanitarian aid, and push for a just and lasting peace in the region. “Even in times of turbulence, Egypt continues to plan confidently, to invest, and to move forward with determination,” she said.
Ambassador Youssef also took the opportunity to extend heartfelt congratulations to Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the occasion of its 150th anniversary, praising the recent speech of H.E. Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa as a reflection of Thailand’s dynamic and impactful foreign policy.
Concluding her address, the Ambassador expressed deep appreciation to all Thai and Egyptian stakeholders contributing to the advancement of the bilateral relationship. She also conveyed well wishes to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn on the occasion of his upcoming birthday.
“Long live Egypt. Long live Egyptian–Thai friendship,” she declared to resounding applause.
